L'Arche 2022

Vin de France | Orange | 2022

This unique cuvée celebrates a rich collection of 60 forgotten Alsatian grape varieties, cultivated on a terroir composed of Jurassic limestone and Lias marl. Benefiting from a full south exposure, away from the Vosges front, these grape varieties thrive in a propitious climate. The vinification process combines direct pressing with amphora maceration, yielding a complex and refined profile, further enriched by the blending of two vintages. This wine distinguishes itself through its artisanal and dedicated approach.

In this privileged part of Alsace, the Deiss family fervently champions complantation, an ancestral practice involving planting multiple grape varieties on the same plot to allow the soil, exposure, and climate to fully express themselves.

Each vineyard thus becomes a unique natural masterpiece, where grapes ripen together and complement each other to produce wines of rare complexity. The soils – limestone, marl-sandstone, volcanic, or clay-limestone – are cultivated biodynamically to preserve their vitality and unleash their full energy. The result ... Read more
