Beaujolais Villages | Rouge | 2024

Alex Foillard, a promising young winemaker from Beaujolais, produces wines from vines ranging in age from 30 to 60 years old, located in Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly. He began the transition to organic farming as soon as he took over the family estate, ensuring an environmentally friendly approach. The wines undergo carbonic maceration followed by nine months of aging in concrete tanks, without filtration, to preserve their full complexity and authenticity.

Alex Foillard

Beaujolais | France

Alex Foillard comes from a family that is a hallmark of the Beaujolais region and launched his own business in 2016 under the name SAS Resveratrol. As the son of Jean Foillard, a leading figure in the revival of Beaujolais wines, he is now developing his own vision while staying true to a strong family tradition.

The estate primarily cultivates vineyards located in the Beaujolais crus, particularly Morgon, on the granitic soils typical of the appellation. The vines are cultivated using environmentally friendly practices, with careful soil management and a focus on microbial life.

The wines are made without unnecessary additives, using native yeasts for fermentation and minimal aging, to allow the Gamay’s fruit and natural structure to shine through. The wines strive for a balance between richness, freshness, and depth.
