La Grapp'A

Cap au Sud 2024

Vin de France | Rouge | 2024

An experiment in blending multiple grape varieties, a meeting of the Jura and the South
. Here, no fewer than eight grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Trousseau, Ploussard, Chardonnay, and Savagnin from the Jura, and Carignan, Grenache, and Clairette from the South.

The result is really nice. You should open the wine a little in advance to let it breathe. It’s a wine with rich red and black fruit flavors and garrigue spices, yet it’s supple, smooth, and full-bodied. In fact, aging in stainless steel tanks plays a major role in giving it that suppleness.

Note that the wine is unfiltered :)

La Grapp'A

Languedoc | France

In Auvergne, La Grapp'A crafts wines predominantly from Gamay grapes cultivated on basaltic soils. The red wines exhibit a vibrant dark fruit profile, subtle tension, and a lightly smoky finish characteristic of the region. Gentle vinification processes yield elegant, sometimes almost infused, expressions. This is an engaging and transparent estate that truly embodies the volcanic revival in Auvergne.
