This rosé de saignée from Drappier highlights Pinot Noir through meticulous winemaking. Organically cultivated on the Jurassic limestone soils of Urville, this natural wine expresses an alluring minerality that balances its generous fruity notes achieved through maceration. With extended bottle aging, it avoids filtration to preserve its full richness. Ideal for those seeking an authentic and refined experience.

Our Review of the Cuvée

The nose of this rosé immediately reveals fresh aromas of strawberry and raspberry, complemented by a subtle floral hint of rose petal. On the palate, the intensity of red berries harmonizes with a vibrant citrus character, particularly mandarin, and is enhanced by a delicate note of white pepper. The wine's silky texture and elegant structure make it an excellent choice as an aperitif or paired with salmon carpaccios, sushi, or grilled meats. Ideally, serve at 7°C to fully appreciate its complete aromatic profile.

Drappier House is located in Urville, in the Côte des Bar region, and has been owned by a Champagne family present in the area since 1808, making it one of the oldest houses still managed by the same lineage. The vineyard is situated on Kimmeridgian soils and is characterized by a high proportion of Pinot Noir, complemented by rare grape varieties such as Arbane and Petit Meslier.

Drappier employs meticulous viticulture, with most of its parcels managed under organic farming practices. Their approach is characterized by soil cultivation without herbicides, a strong focus on biodiversity, and winemaking that prioritizes the natural expression of the fruit. The cuvées are frequently crafted with minimal or no dosage, emphasizing purity and minerality.

The house is also committed to robust environmental initiatives, notably carbon-neutral certification, and its Champagnes are appreciated for their elegance, tension, and
