Coume del Mas

Quadratur 2023

Collioure | Rouge | 2023

This Collioure cuvée, grown on high-altitude schist soils, is a blend of Grenache Noir (50%), Mourvèdre (30%), and Carignan (20%). The grapes are hand-harvested, carefully destemmed, and undergo pre-fermentation maceration followed by 3 to 5 weeks of vatting, then aged for 12 months in barrels. The result is a dense, structured wine that is fruity and complex, combining elegance, intensity, and balance.

Our Review of the Cuvée

The wine displays a deep red color with purple highlights. The nose reveals a generous array of ripe black fruits, garrigue herbs, spices, licorice, and a hint of leather. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied and velvety. The fine, velvety tannins support a powerful yet refined structure. The finish is long, briny, and persistent, revealing mineral and spicy notes. Quadratur offers beautiful tension, combining density and precision, typical of the expressive wines of Roussillon.
