Our Review of the Cuvée

After a brief aeration, this already promising wine reveals a lovely roundness and velvety texture on the palate. The intense fruitiness is perfectly balanced by a subtle tension that adds an extra dimension. The fresh, dense finish gives the wine exceptional length, carried by the purity of blackcurrant.

Domaine Les Murailles Neuves

Loire | France

Domaine Les Murailles Neuves is a winery located in Varrains, within the Saumur-Champigny appellation in the Loire Valley, where Bruno Richard tends the vineyards to produce red wines typical of Cabernet Franc. The estate has been operated by the family since they took it over in 2004 and aims to highlight the expression of the local clay-limestone terroir.

The vineyards are managed to prioritize grape quality through controlled yields and traditional winemaking methods. The wines are primarily reds made from Cabernet Franc, sometimes aged in amphorae or tanks to preserve the integrity of the aromas and the fruit’s finesse.

The estate’s wines are distinguished by their elegance, their distinct aromatic profile, and their ability to faithfully reflect the identity of the Saumur-Champigny terroir.
