Métisse 2024

Corbières | Rosé | 2024

The estate, nestled at an altitude of 200 meters in the Hautes-Corbières region, spans 15 hectares of meticulously tended vineyards. In harmony with nature, the vineyard promotes soil balance through grazing and prioritizes pesticide-free cultivation. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the clusters are cooled before undergoing natural fermentation. This rosé, named Métisse, is aged in tanks in a way that preserves its character, with minimal added sulfites.

Our Review of the Cuvée

Métisse first captivates with its color, somewhere between raspberry and ruby, reminiscent of a translucent gemstone. On the nose, it reveals complex aromas of morello cherry and raspberry, accompanied by peony, spices, and a subtle toasty note. On the palate, it reveals a rich, enveloping texture where finesse and intensity blend harmoniously. The light carbonation brings a lively freshness, accentuated by a fruity, vibrant finish bursting with raspberry and tart morello cherry. A tasting experience to be savored to the fullest.

Languedoc | France

Originally from Burgundy, Maxime Magnon settled in 2002 in the wild and rugged landscape of the Hautes Corbières, south of Corbières. There, between Villeneuve-les-Corbières, Durban, and Cascastel, he has made a forgotten terroir his own, breathing new life into ancient plots of century-old vines and establishing himself as one of the most exciting figures in the Languedoc’s renaissance.

The estate now covers some fifteen hectares planted on high-altitude soilscomposed of clay, schist, and limestone, which lend the grapes depth, finesse, and minerality. The vineyards are managed with a deep respect for life: certified organic farming, manual work in the plots, and even the integration of animals (sheep, cows) that graze in the winter to naturally enrich the microbial life of the soil.
