Clos Thou

Cuvée Guilhouret 2022

Jurançon | Blanc | 2022

This wine, from the Clos Thou vineyard, is made from traditional Jurançon grape varieties: Gros Manseng, Petit Courbu, Camaralet, and Petit Manseng. The grapes are carefully selected starting in early October and then slowly pressed. Fermentation takes place partly in barrels and partly in tanks, followed by aging on fine lees for six to eight months. This meticulous process gives the wine great complexity and a beautiful structure, enhanced by the influence of the unique Jurançon terroir.

Our Review of the Cuvée

When you first encounter this wine, its beautiful, intense golden color immediately catches the eye. The nose reveals seductive notes of roasted pineapple, mango, and yellow peach, enhanced by a subtle hint of spice. On the palate, the texture is smooth and elegant, guided by fruity aromas dominated by passion fruit and fresh pineapple. The finish reveals noble notes of orange peel, creating a perfect balance. A pleasant lingering aftertaste of mango and a subtle hint of truffle rounds out this tasting with finesse and refinement.

Clos Thou

Jura | France

Le Clos Thou cultivates its steep slopes while preserving the vibrant character of Petit Manseng. The dry whites exhibit a crisp acidity and subtle minerality, while the sweet wines express rich ripeness without heaviness. Biodiversity is at the heart of the estate’s practices, which is reflected in the wines’ pure aromas and balanced mouthfeel. A beautiful interpretation of the many facets of Jurançon.
