Vin de pays Charentais 2022

Vin De Pays Charentais | Rouge | 2022

Domaine des Bellevues has been combining tradition and family expertise since 1811, located in the heart of the Fins Bois region. This red Vin de Pays Charentais is a blend primarily of Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winemaking process respects the characteristics of each grape variety through harvesting at peak ripeness and separate vinification to develop a unique aromatic complexity. Aging in tanks for 9 to 12 months allows for perfect harmony among the aromas.

Our Review of the Cuvée

On the palate, this red wine reveals an intense, captivating purple hue. The nose features seductive aromas of black fruit coulis and fresh raspberry intertwined with subtle hints of wild blackberry and spice. The palate offers an enveloping, silky experience, with perfect balance and a luscious fruitiness that invites you to savor it again and again. The finish, both invigorating and delicately tart, evokes notes of blackberry and cocoa, leaving a lasting and pleasant impression.

Domaine Ramnoux is a family-owned winery located in Mareuil, in the Charente region, where David Ramnoux and his wife cultivate approximately 8.5 to 10 hectares of vineyards using organic and biodynamic methods. The estate has been in the family for several generations and fully showcases its terroir through artisanal winemaking.

The estate produces a variety of products, including red wine under the Vin de Pays Charentais PGI designation, Pineau des Charentes, and Cognac, processing its entire harvest on-site, from vine to bottle or still.

The grapes are harvested by hand, and the winemaking process is designed to preserve the expression of the fruit and the terroir, resulting in wines and spirits that combine tradition, authenticity, and the distinctive character of the Charente region.
