Champagne Pascal Lejeune
Anecdotes from the estate: My winemaker's credo is respect for people, nature, our vines, our soils, and meticulous work to obtain quality grapes. We strive to offer you the very best that nature provides. Our wines are very different; there's something for every occasion and taste... Nature knows best! What characterizes all our wines is their full and luscious character combined with a refreshing acidity. Choosing a wine isn't easy, especially in any situation. We understand completely... Trust your taste buds, let your senses guide you; the best wine or champagne will always be the one you enjoy, the one that gives you a pleasant moment. The Story of the Estate: I began a military career, but when I met Sandrine... my life took a different turn. Robert, a winemaker and Sandrine's father, quickly passed on his passion to me: the love of winemaking, after giving me his daughter's hand in marriage. It was a transmission of know-how, daily discipline, and shared values between father-in-law and son-in-law, all supported by Sandrine, who at the time was an account manager at a bank. I cherish and respect this family support. I feel a responsibility and am committed to our profession and our land, working together to ensure its continuity and adapt to its evolution for our children and future generations. The Estate's Pride: Our family vineyard is located in the Coteaux Sud d'Epernay region, in Moussy, Pierry (a renowned Premier Cru), and Epernay. Sandrine, Pascal, and their son Thibaut cultivate the three Champagne grape varieties, spread across a mosaic of 42 plots. At the crossroads of the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs, our terroir is remarkably diverse, with clay-limestone and silty soils containing small flints. Our grapes ripen in optimal conditions on steep, south-southeast-facing slopes. Committed to preserving our terroir, we have practiced cover cropping and tilling under the vines for over 18 years. Seeds are carefully selected to protect our soils, maintain biodiversity, and limit erosion on our slopes. Our estate has earned two certifications: "High Environmental Value" and "Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne," which recognize our various environmentally friendly practices and our efforts in landscape management.
