Champagne Rousseaux Batteux
Anecdotes from the Estate: A childhood spent amidst the vines, steeped in the aroma of the vats and the pressed grapes during the harvest... Champagne is in my DNA. Today, I have one obsession: to best exploit the finesse of our terroir, particularly through plot-by-plot vinification (small vats and oak barrels), all while respecting our environment as much as possible. The Estate's History: It was at the beginning of the 20th century that the first bottles were sold under the name Paul Rousseaux. Denis, his grandson, created the current Rousseaux-Batteux brand in 1976 with his wife Laurence, niece of the famous French national football team coach, Albert Batteux. Today, 29-year-old Adrien is at the helm of the vineyard. He is the fourth generation of "Rousseaux" to perpetuate this winemaking tradition. The pride of the estate, Champagne Rousseaux-Batteux, is located in the wine-growing village of Verzenay. Situated on a hillside and surrounded by vineyards, the village is crowned by the Montagne de Reims forest. Its prestigious vineyard is classified as Grand Cru, one of only 17 in Champagne. It produces exceptional grapes for outstanding cuvées.
