Anecdotes from the estate: "I was born the same year my family acquired Château Carsin. I spent part of my childhood among the vines. For me, the goal now is to showcase the authenticity of our vineyards in our wines. I firmly believe that the best wines are made in the vineyards, not in the cellars. With healthy vines, we are able to bring the grapes to optimal ripeness and make delicious wines. Our aim is to produce sustainable and authentic wines." - Nea Berglund. A little history of the estate: Château Carsin has been producing wine since the 19th century. In 1990, it was purchased by the Finnish Berglund family. Juha Berglund is the managing director, and now his daughter, Nea Berglund, has taken over the reins of the estate. Like many people from the North, this family has a deep respect for nature, and this is evident in their daily work. Château Carsin began organic farming in 2003, and in 2019, the vineyards will be 100% organic. The pride of the estate, Château Carsin is a family-run vineyard located in Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux. We produce crisp white wines, fruity and characterful red wines, delicious rosés, and sweet wines. We cultivate nine grape varieties: Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sémillon. Our 20-hectare vineyard is primarily planted with clay-limestone soil. We take care to work our vines using traditional methods, always striving to produce the highest quality grapes. Our harvest is hand-picked, and a second sorting is then carried out in our cellars.
