Chateau de Passavant
Anecdotes from the Estate: Since the 1990s, Château de Passavant has contributed to the "Adelphe" association, an organization that helps local communities finance glass recycling. A Brief History of the Estate: Nearly 25 years ago, Claire and Olivier decided to take over the family estate. Pioneers in Anjou, they took the plunge and converted their entire operation to organic farming in 1998. Continuing this pursuit of quality and respect for the environment, the estate is now cultivated biodynamically. So don't be surprised to find ladybugs, dragonflies, and snails during a stroll through the hillsides! The Estate's Pride: Located in the charming village of Passavant-sur-Layon, in Anjou, the estate covers 50 hectares cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods. Soils blending schist and limestone give our Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grolleau grape varieties their distinctive character.
