Château de REIGNAC

Bordeaux | France

In the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, Château de Reignac brings together the finest terroirs of both the right and left banks of the Garonne River. Committed to High Environmental Value (HVE) level 4 certification, it combines expertise and innovation to produce exceptional wines, recognized in blind tastings. Anecdotes from the estate: After visiting the winemaking cellars, the winery, and the tasting room, don't miss the Château de Reignac garden. There you'll find a magnificent mix of flowers and fruit trees that will awaken your sense of smell. It will also be an opportunity to step inside the large greenhouse built for Gustave Eiffel. A little history of the estate: The Château as we know it today was built by Lord Baude-de-Peyron in the 16th century. During the 18th and 19th centuries, numerous transformations were made. A courtyard was created and enclosed by gates worthy of the grandest castles. Gustave Eiffel also became involved in a greenhouse construction project, which marked the beginning of a passion for flower cultivation at the château. In 1990, Stéphanie and Yves Vatelot acquired the property and dedicated all their resources to making Château Reignac a leading Bordeaux estate. They surrounded themselves with prominent figures in the region, such as the renowned oenologist Michel Rolland, who continues to advise the estate, resulting in increasingly innovative wines that reflect the owners' vision. The pride of the estate: We are located at the crossroads of Bordeaux and Saint-Émilion. Château de Reignac lies in the Entre-deux-Mers region, on the area's prime terroirs: the clay-limestone soils of the Right Bank and the clay-gravel soils of the Left Bank. The combination of these two terroirs produces wines with interesting and, above all, unique aromatic qualities. The estate comprises 135 hectares in a single block, including 80 hectares of planted vineyards. We offer four wines: three reds and one white, distributed in 32 countries. For our reds, we blend Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, along with Merlot, except for our 100% Merlot cuvée. Our Reignac cuvée is made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris, and Sémillon.
