Anecdotes from the Estate: The Estate's History. The 32-hectare vineyard stretches across the slopes of Château de Tracy and those of Vilmoy, a few kilometers from Pouilly-sur-Loire. The vineyard is planted exclusively with Sauvignon Blanc. The variety of the estate's terroirs (flint or limestone) allows the full expression of the nobility and power of this exceptional grape variety. Château de Tracy stands on a rocky spur overlooking the Loire River. A manuscript from 1396, preserved in the d'Assay family archives, records the purchase of the Champ de Cri vineyard, which is still planted with vines and remains part of the estate. The current family business was re-established by Count and Countess Alain d'Estutt d'Assay in 1952. Three of their children work on the estate, perpetuating the spirit of quality and excellence that has always prevailed. We practice sustainable viticulture to promote environmentally responsible practices. The pride of the Château de Tracy estate lies in producing quality wines through rigorous and healthy viticulture and winemaking. For the past nineteen years, we have implemented a management approach that respects the natural balance of our vineyard as much as possible. We favor natural resources and ecosystem regulation mechanisms, as well as non-polluting agricultural practices. This approach has been rewarded with Level III "High Environmental Value" certification for our estate. During the harvest, particular attention is paid to selecting the best grapes. The juice is selected as it comes out of the press, and each plot is vinified separately. We have also refined our winemaking practices to preserve the quality of our Pouilly-Fumé as much as possible.
