Anecdotes from the estate: We love our wines, of course, but our epicurean spirit and curiosity drive us to fill our wine cellars with bottles from other estates, enriching our knowledge every day. On every vacation, every trip, we take cases with us, which we exchange with other winemakers, for the pleasure of discovery and sharing... conviviality guaranteed! A little history of the estate: Our family, originally from the north of the Gard region, has been cultivating vines for nine generations. We arrived in Costières de Nîmes in 1976 at Château Guiot with our parents, François and Sylvia Cornut. Then, we, the twins Alexis and Numa, returned to the family estate in Blauzac in 2007. Each of our wines bears its true identity, both through the specific micro-terroir of the plot from which the grapes are grown and through our winemaking work in the cellar, which we carry out every day with patience, rigor, and understanding. Driven by our commitment to cultivating the vines amidst nature, and in order to further protect our bees and hives, we are progressively converting the vineyard to organic farming. The pride of the estate, Château Guiot, is located in the southern part of the Costières de Nîmes appellation, on the first slopes overlooking the Petite Camargue ponds. The 80-hectare vineyard benefits from very deep soil, composed of red clay with rolled pebbles extending to a depth of about fifty meters, originating from the Durance River 200,000 years ago. This proximity to water, via the Camargue and the Mediterranean, along with the exceptional richness and depth of the soils, gives our red wines expression, maturity, suppleness, and freshness. L'Enclos de la Chance is located near Uzès, on our family lands of Blauzac and Bourdic. We chose to plant our white grape varieties there to benefit from a cooler terroir, allowing us to produce the kind of white wines we love: luminous, elegant, and with a beautiful tension that is conducive to aging.
