Anecdotes from the Estate: The Estate's History. The history of Château La Vaisinerie dates back to the 18th century, but its vineyard is certainly older. An outbuilding of the Château de Puisseguin, a fortress located in the heart of the village of the same name, La Vaisinerie was built in two stages: the château itself emerged around 1685, followed by the winery buildings in 1718. Owned by Baroness Henry de Pierredon, Château La Vaisinerie produced approximately 60 barrels of quality wine in 1783. A few decades later, production now exceeds 70,000 bottles. The Estate's Pride: Our cultivation methods, based on meticulous attention to the vineyard, are rigorous and respectful of the vines. Our plot-by-plot traceability allows us to meticulously manage our nutritional inputs and phytosanitary treatments. Despite a challenging terroir, soil management has remained traditional. The vineyard is not weeded in favor of more environmentally friendly cultivation methods.
