Anecdotes from the Estate: Working the vines is an exchange between us and the land, but also between us and others, which we convey through our wines. We maintain a blog that chronicles our daily life, life at the estate, our triumphs, and our connection to the land. A Little History of the Estate: A young couple of passionate winemakers, we took over the estate with Camille in 2008, and today there are three of us working here, along with Jean-Marie, without whom none of this would be possible. Respectful of the soil and the vines that surround us, we embraced organic farming from the start and biodynamic practices since 2010, obtaining Ecocert certification. This approach, while not an end in itself, helps us in our quest for authenticity in our wines. We uproot and replant vines to increase density, resulting in a smaller but higher yield. The pride of the estate. Located in the Dordogne region within the Bergerac appellation, at the crossroads of the Gironde, Lot, and Dordogne departments, the estate spans 13 hectares and benefits from a sunny oceanic climate with mild winters and sometimes very hot summers. The vines are planted on three different terroirs: silty clay, clay-limestone slopes, and flinty limestone, in a highly diverse natural environment with native flora. The vines are treated with biodynamic preparations using herbal teas made from nettles, horsetail, and willow shoots gathered on the estate. Simple, free, and effective! Polyculture is practiced, no sulfur is used for the red wines, and animal traction is employed on a small area (one to three times a year, depending on the needs). For white wines, the grape varieties grown are Semillon, Ugni Blanc and Muscadelle, and for red wines, there are Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon.
