Château Mignan

With its 22 hectares, this estate is a jewel of the Languedoc. The vineyard is planted with several plots scattered between the Minervois AOC and the La Livinière cru, located near the Montagne Noire. Anecdotes from the estate: Being a winemaker is a passion passed down first by my grandfather. Then my father continued the tradition, and I am the third generation. I find my inspiration in the vines, especially at night when I have to go out to tend them according to the lunar cycle. I respect them, and they reward me with each harvest, giving me their finest juice. I bottle this, and a year ago I redesigned the labels, using embossed or transparent designs for a more striking effect. I hope that, like me, you will feel all the love I put into my work. We are very proud to practice organic viticulture and winemaking. The Estate's Pride: With its 22 hectares, this estate is a jewel of the Languedoc. The vineyard is planted with several parcels scattered between the Minervois AOC and the La Livinière cru, located near the Montagne Noire. Rising from an altitude of 130 meters to nearly 200 meters on the foothills, the climatic conditions vary considerably, both in terms of temperature differences (1 to 3 degrees Celsius) and rainfall. Added to this are soils of diverse geological origins, but dominated by clay-limestone. Since 2012, the estate has been exclusively certified organic, including its winemaking. Christian is the third generation to work the magnificent Château Mignan estate and invites you to discover his wines, crafted with respect and a love for the craft, and with the appreciation of those who cherish this beautiful terroir. The estate was founded in 1956 by Christian Mignard's grandfather on the high clay-limestone terraces of Siran and taken over by Christian himself in 2002. Today, it comprises 22 hectares divided between the Minervois and Minervois-la Livinière appellations. The current winemaker has built his own cellar and converted his entire vineyard to organic farming (certified in 2012).
