Domaine Boissonnet
Anecdotes from the Estate: When you look at the landscapes between Vienne and Tain l'Hermitage, you're struck by the contrast between the Rhône's flowing waters and the vines clinging to the vertiginous slopes. The perfect harmony between water, earth, and sky has made the wines of this region famous, a region to which the estate attaches great importance. Domaine Boissonnet therefore emphasizes the proper cultivation of the vines, respecting both the terroir and the grapes. As Frédéric likes to say, "Without good grapes, you can't make good wines." The story of Domaine Boissonnet: Domaine Boissonnet perpetuates a family tradition that finds its full meaning in the history of its 17th-century cellars, where the winemaker has been aging his wines in barrels since 1990. Frédéric Boissonnet took over and revived the business of his father and grandfather, to whom he pays homage with Bélive, a nod to the cuvée of the same name that his grandfather produced. The estate places great importance on its history. The pride of the estate: It was in 1990 that Frédéric Boissonnet took over the family estate. The 17th-century house, located in Serrières (Ardèche), conceals vaulted cellars, lovingly restored, where our St. Joseph and Condrieu wines are aged. On the steep slopes overlooking the Rhône Valley, we cultivate nearly 11 hectares of vines with the utmost respect for the terroir and careful control of yields.
