Anecdotes from the Estate: We live above the vats; we can hear them singing as they ferment. If they're singing too loudly, it means they're about to pour... and the wine will be good—that's the tradition! A Little History of the Estate: We have been winemakers for six generations. At the beginning of the century, vines were a complementary crop to fruit trees and asparagus. With the creation of the Côtes du Rhône AOC in the late 1930s, viticulture was developed to become our main activity. In 1967, "Domaine Chantegrives" was created by our grandparents, with an area of 6 hectares. Little by little, the estate grew to its current size. In 2004, our parents produced their first bottles and developed direct sales. In 2018, I joined them to perpetuate the family tradition! The Estate's Pride: Domaine Chantegrives is located in the Southern Rhône Valley, in the hills above Tresques, the village of three waters. Our 30 hectares of vines have an average age of 45 years and are divided into two distinct vineyard plots, each with its own specific characteristics. The "Les Masses" plot, located in the hills above Bagnols-sur-Cèze, is dedicated to Grenache vines. The clay-sandy slopes of the Courac hill in Tresques are where our Syrah grapes thrive. Prioritizing varietal diversity, we also cultivate Carignan, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Ugni Blanc, and Bourboulenc. In this exceptional environment, we practice sustainable and environmentally friendly farming as a family. Our wines are elegant and express the unique character of our terroir.
