One family, two estates… Domaine Jean-Claude Courtault and Domaine Stéphanie et Vincent Michelet: 30 hectares in total, encompassing the four Chablis appellations plus one Bourgogne Epineuil. Anecdotes from the estate: Letting the terroir express itself is Stéphanie and Vincent Michelet's objective. And this is precisely what is found in the wines of their two estates. Each estate has its own distinct identity, linked to the terroir, as the vineyards of the two estates are not located in the same villages. The two estates thus offer a complete range, with wines of varied expression. Stéphanie and Vincent cultivate their vines with respect for the environment and the terroir (the estates are part of the Dephy Ecophyto Network). The wines, primarily vinified in stainless steel tanks with extended aging, result in precise wines where the Kimmeridgian influence is expressed in wonderful variations. The story of the estate: In the beginning was Domaine Jean-Claude Courtault, created in 1984 by JC Courtault, Stéphanie's father. She and her husband, Vincent Michelet, joined him in 2007. In 2008, they simultaneously created their own estate: Domaine Stéphanie et Vincent Michelet. The two estates worked in synergy for 12 years. In 2019, Stéphanie and Vincent took over Domaine Courtault… Today, they cultivate 30 hectares, offering the four Chablis appellations, complemented since 2017 by a Pinot Noir: Bourgogne Epineuil. The adventure continues… The pride of the estate: One family, two estates… Domaine Jean-Claude Courtault and Domaine Stéphanie et Vincent Michelet, headed by Stéphanie and Vincent Michelet. Nearly 30 hectares in total, encompassing the four Chablis appellations plus one Bourgogne Epineuil. The vines have always been cultivated using sustainable viticulture practices. The aim is to go even further, with methods increasingly close to organic. The estate is located at the top of the Lignorelles hill. The vineyard, mostly in the northwest of the Chablis region, is quite dispersed, with varied terroirs, some more calcareous than others. The wines are vinified with the objective of freshness, minerality, and the expression of the terroir.
