Anecdotes from the Estate: The story of the estate begins with Anaïs, who comes from the Médoc region where she manages the family vineyard. Bastien acquired his expertise on the Right Bank in Saint-Émilion, where he worked for 10 years. In 2017, they arrived in the charming village of Rions, at the La Bastane vineyard, a château that locals nicknamed "Little Yquem" because it produced delicious sweet wines. Upon arrival, they began the organic conversion and restructuring of the vineyard, driven by a dual objective: to showcase this extraordinary terroir through short supply chains. They produce all types of wine, but always in micro-batches ranging from 200 to 5,000 bottles: sparkling rosé, white, rosé, red, and sweet wines. The pride of the La Bastane estate is its organic management by Anaïs and Bastien. The vineyard is located on the Right Bank of the Garonne River, 30 km south of Bordeaux. Perched on a hill, the château is surrounded by its vineyard composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle. It represents almost all the terroirs of the Bordeaux region: gravel on the plateau, limestone on the hillside and clay at the bottom.
