Champagne Françoise Bedel

Dis, "Vin Secret"

Champagne | Blanc | NM

This wine is a blend of 95% Pinot Meunier and 5% Chardonnay. The grapes come from vines ranging in age from 20 to 60 years old, grown on terroirs with loamy and marl-limestone soils, providing a remarkable foundation. After vinification in enamel-lined tanks and a touch of oak aging, this wine rested on racks for four years before disgorgement in June 2021, resulting in well-structured harmony and complexity.

Our Review of the Cuvée

This wine reveals a delicate nose, blending subtle floral and ripe fruit aromas. On the palate, the attack is fresh and lively, revealing a lovely minerality derived from the limestone terroirs. The silky texture, enhanced by a brief aging in oak barrels, offers an elegant roundness. The fine bubbles, the result of several years of aging, impart a sophisticated creaminess. The finish, both lingering and refreshing, leaves a clear and harmonious impression.

Champagne Françoise Bedel

Champagne Françoise Bedel

Champagne | France

Françoise Bedel has established herself as a prominent figure in Champagne biodynamics, crafting wines imbued with a unique patina. The cuvées, often aged for extended periods, develop a creamy texture underpinned by a finely sculpted Meunier. Fruity notes remain distinct despite the richness of the style, supported by supple acidity and a subtle salinity. Barrel fermentation for certain cuvées adds complexity without diminishing the finesse of the effervescence. A singular universe where time plays a pivotal role.
