Our opinion on the vintage
Château Caminade Haut Guérin
Located in Génissac, opposite the Pomerol and Saint-Émilion appellations, Château Caminade Haut Guérin is a family estate whose origins date back to the 1930s. Long divided between two families, the estate has been structured over generations and is now managed by Pierre Caminade and Léa Terral. The vineyard covers 30 hectares, of which 13.5 hectares are in production, spread across two plateaus with gravelly soils mixed with sand and clay. The grape varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, Malbec, as well as Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle for the white wines. Aging is tailored to each wine, using a combination of tanks, lees, and acacia barrels. Keen to express the terroir of Génissac as closely as possible, the estate has been committed since 2024 to a conversion to organic farming, with the ambition of producing velvety, fresh and fruity wines.
