Domaine Ampelhus cultivates rare local grape varieties, such as Terret Noir and Picpoul Noir, from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, guaranteeing their wines a freshness resulting from slow and extended ripening. Organically grown and vinified without additives, these wines reveal a high quality recognized by several awards. Manual vinification and aging in stainless steel tanks preserve the fruit and freshness of the wines.

Our opinion on the vintage

A lively nose with citrus notes and a subtle touch of hops. A rich and structured palate, expressive and mineral, with an elegant and persistent finish.

Domaine Ampelhus

Domaine Ampelhus

Languedoc | France

In Faugères, Domaine Ampelhus relies on schist soils, characteristic of the appellation, which favor structured and elegant expressions. The vineyard is planted mainly with Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan, Mediterranean grape varieties interpreted here in a quest for balance rather than power.

The vineyard is managed using organic practices, allowing for precise soil analysis and careful control of grape ripeness. In the cellar, winemaking is carried out gently to preserve the purity of the fruit and the finesse of the textures. Extractions are kept to a minimum, without seeking to increase concentration.

The wines exhibit a tight structure and consistent tension, supported by precise and restrained aromatics. Their profiles avoid excessive ripeness, favoring clarity and precision. The estate's work as a whole offers a measured and coherent interpretation of Faugères, grounded in freshness, structure, and a faithful expression of the terroir.
