Domaine Barou

Petit Colorado 2024

Collines Rhodaniennes | Red | 2024

Made entirely from Syrah grapes, this wine comes from young vines under 20 years old planted in the granite soils of Charnas. Vinification involves partially destemmed grapes (80%), followed by a 12-day fermentation and maceration at 28°C. Daily pump-overs and six months of aging in stainless steel tanks contribute to a fruity and supple profile, fully expressing the character of the weathered granite soils.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first sip, this wine surprises with its freshness and elegant bouquet of red and black fruits. On the palate, it reveals a silky texture combined with a lightness that gently envelops the palate. The tannins are fine and well-integrated, offering an appealing balance to the dominant fruity notes. The finish is persistent, leaving an impression of freshness and a pleasant fruity sensation. This wine deserves a place on every table, where its natural elegance and supple structure will appeal to both Syrah enthusiasts and novices alike.

Domaine Barou

Domaine Barou

Vallée du Rhône | France

In the hills of the Ardèche, Domaine Barou has been cultivating its vines organically for many years. Located in the immediate vicinity of the Saint-Joseph appellation, the estate works primarily with Syrah in a style that is more elegant and supple than that traditionally found on the neighboring slopes.

The ripeness is deliberately controlled to preserve the freshness of the fruit and the balance of the structure. The reds are built on polished tannins and a clear expression of fruit, without striving for power. The estate also produces precise and balanced white wines, following the same principle of clarity.

All the wines are distinguished by their great consistency and a serene style, true to a measured interpretation of the Northern Rhône. These are straightforward and approachable wines, crafted without excess and designed for a smooth tasting experience.
