Rivairenc 2023

Languedoc | Red | 2023

Sourced from organically grown vines on the Ampelhus estate, this unique wine is produced from Rivairenc, a traditional grape variety revived by Thibaud Vermillard. Planted on south-facing slopes, these old vines benefit from an exceptional terroir similar to that of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The winemaking process, with no additives and only a touch of sulfur before bottling, guarantees a pure and fresh product, ideal for discerning wine lovers.

Our opinion on the vintage

On opening, the nose seduces with its notes of fresh red fruit and subtle spices. The palate, silky and structured, reveals fine, perfectly integrated tannins. The natural freshness of the Rivairenc grape, the result of controlled ripeness, brings a refined balance. The flavors unfold elegantly, supported by harmonious acidity, leading to a long and invigorating finish. A wine that charms with its originality and authentic personality.

Domaine Ampelhus

Languedoc | France

In Faugères, Domaine Ampelhus relies on schist soils, characteristic of the appellation, which favor structured and elegant expressions. The vineyard is planted mainly with Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan, Mediterranean grape varieties interpreted here in a quest for balance rather than power.

The vineyard is managed using organic practices, allowing for precise soil analysis and careful control of grape ripeness. In the cellar, winemaking is carried out gently to preserve the purity of the fruit and the finesse of the textures. Extractions are kept to a minimum, without seeking to increase concentration.

The wines exhibit a tight structure and consistent tension, supported by precise and restrained aromatics. Their profiles avoid excessive ripeness, favoring clarity and precision. The estate's work as a whole offers a measured and coherent interpretation of Faugères, grounded in freshness, structure, and a faithful expression of the terroir.
