Coqueliquot rouge 2024

Côtes de Thongue | Red | 2024

Made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot, this wine is the product of traditional winemaking expertise, with fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks followed by aging in concrete vats. This vinification process allows for excellent aromatic precision and a balanced structure. The care taken during the harvest and the selection of rootstocks, SO4 and R110, guarantees an authentic expression of the unique terroir of sandy-loam marl and clay-limestone colluvium.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first glance, the translucent garnet robe with its purple highlights is captivating. Upon opening, the nose offers a beautiful complexity with aromas of candied red berries, blackcurrant, and subtle spicy and toasty notes. On the palate, it's an experience of roundness and freshness, with a supple and fruity texture that caresses the palate. The flesh is delicately pulpy, providing a smooth and pleasant sensation. The light finish leaves a flavorful impression with lingering traces of candied red berries and a toasty touch that invites further tasting.

Domaine de l'Arjolle

Languedoc | France

Located in Languedoc, Domaine de l'Arjolle relies on a wide variety of grape varieties, chosen for their ability to adapt to the area's contrasting soils. This mosaic of vineyard plots allows for the production of wines with complementary profiles, built on balance rather than the pursuit of a single style.

The white wines are crafted from grapes at carefully controlled ripeness to preserve freshness and natural tension. The reds benefit from moderate extraction, resulting in supple textures and expressive fruit, without heaviness. Depending on the cuvée, aging alternates between tank and oak, with brief periods in barrel when this adds extra body without masking the expression of the grapes.

The entire process aims for a clear understanding of the blends and terroirs, resulting in wines that are fluid, direct, and approachable. The estate champions a measured approach, attentive to overall coherence and the clarity of the wines' profiles,
