The revenant 2020

Vin de France | Red | 2020

This unexpected vintage surprises us with its natural balance, achieved without the addition of sulfites. Made from Syrah grapes, the winemaking process took an unexpected turn due to more advanced ripeness, resulting in distinct characteristics. The wine was initially set aside before being rediscovered, revealing a unique style distinguished by perfectly harmonized residual sugars and vibrant acidity, giving it a personality reminiscent of a Maury or late harvest wine.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first glance, this vintage reveals a captivatingly intense, almost black, color. On the nose, it develops an enchanting bouquet reminiscent of prestigious wines like Amarone or Maury, with aromas of candied black fruit, underscored by notes of resin, menthol, and eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine is rich and velvety, and the remarkable acidity, contrasted with a subtle hint of sweetness, offers a refreshing dimension. The finish is long and vibrant, transforming each sip into a memorable tasting experience.

Valjulius

Languedoc | France

Domaine Valjulius is a family-run vineyard in Languedoc-Roussillon, located in Corneilhan near Béziers, founded in 2006 by Julien Sarda with the support of his father. The estate has been farmed organically for over ten years, with particular attention paid to the quality of the grapes and the pure expression of the clay-limestone terroir.

Valjulius produces red, white, and rosé wines under the IGP Coteaux de Béziers and Pays d'Oc appellations, each vinified separately to better reflect the specific characteristics of the cuvées and vineyard plots. The wines are renowned for their freshness, aromatic balance, and ability to express both the structure of the grapes and the generosity of the Mediterranean climate.

The estate combines meticulous viticultural work with low-intervention winemaking to create sincere, straightforward and accessible wines, while leaving significant room for the identity of the vintage and the place.
