Our Review of the Cuvée
Château Caminade Haut Guérin
Located in Génissac, across from the Pomerol and Saint-Émilion appellations, Château Caminade Haut Guérin is a family-run estate whose origins date back to the 1930s. Long shared between two families, the estate has evolved over the generations and is now managed by Pierre Caminade and Léa Terral. The vineyard spans 30 hectares, including 13.5 hectares under production, spread across two plateaus with gravelly soils mixed with sand and clay. The grape varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, Malbec, as well as Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle for the whites. Aging methods are tailored to each wine, using vats, lees, and acacia barrels. Committed to expressing the Génissac terroir as faithfully as possible, the estate has been transitioning to organic farming since 2024, with the goal of producing velvety, fresh, and fruity wines.
