Our Review of the Cuvée

The color is a very dark, opaque purple. The nose is expressive, with notes of black fruit cream and a hint of yogurt. The palate is round, full-bodied, and velvety, offering a lush, juicy texture bursting with fruit and freshness, with a very light effervescence in the background that adds an extra touch of liveliness. The wine is exceptionally rich and easy to drink (12% alcohol). The finish delivers an even fruitier and more indulgent mouthfeel, with notes of blackberry, menthol, and cocoa, immediately calling for another sip.

Château Beynat

Château Beynat

Bordeaux | France

On the hillsides of Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux, Château Beynat offers a restrained and accessible expression of Merlot, the estate’s primary grape variety. The vineyard is situated on gently sloping terrain—typical of the region—which promotes gradual ripening and natural balance.

The estate is managed using biodynamic methods, an approach that here emphasizes stability and continuity rather than stylistic flourishes. The winemaking process emphasizes gentle extraction and carefully controlled aging, allowing the wine to evolve slowly and smoothly. Some vintages express themselves with a fuller body, while others develop more straightforward profiles, marked by a subtle minerality.

The wines are distinguished by their smooth development and aging potential, with a restrained yet persistent character. The work carried out at Château Beynat offers a unique interpretation of Castillon, based on precision and restraint
