Domaine du Météore

Léonides 2024

Faugères | Blanc | 2024

The high altitude of Domaine du Météore and the richness of its schist soils give these wines a refreshing crispness and a distinct minerality. Located between two renowned terroirs, Faugères and Saint-Chinian, the estate benefits from subtle variations that enrich its wines. Vinification in stainless steel tanks preserves the authenticity of the grape varieties (Vermentino, Clairette, Roussanne, Viognier), offering wines that are both refined and full of character.

Our Review of the Cuvée

At first glance, this wine reveals a pale, brilliant yellow color. The nose, though subtle, is rich in nuances, revealing notes of candied citrus and delicate marine hints. On the palate, you’ll discover a round, pleasant texture, where flavors of white fruit and citrus zest harmonize with a surprising saline intensity. The finish, with great depth, is enhanced by aromas of lemon and Granny Smith apple, punctuated by a spicy salinity that invites you to take another sip.

Domaine du Météore

Situated on the site of an ancient crater, the estate benefits from spectacular schist soils. Carignan and Syrah produce concentrated wines with mineral depth and dark, intense aromas. The winemaking process emphasizes moderate extraction and precise aging, resulting in wines with taut yet approachable textures. The style remains crisp and energetic, with a very pronounced mineral character.
