Our opinion on the vintage

The wine's luminous, deep golden-yellow robe elegantly captures the light. On the nose, the bouquet opens with a refined expression of white-fleshed fruits—ripe pear, white peach—enriched by delicate floral notes and a subtle buttery, mineral touch that heralds the nobility of the terroir. On the palate, the attack is ample and silky, carried by a superb texture that combines richness and freshness. The wine reveals a beautiful density, without heaviness, supported by a saline minerality that gives the wine its precision and balance. The finish lingers with finesse, leaving behind delicate aromas of ripe fruit, light honey, and warm stone. A beautifully expressive, harmonious, and profound Chassagne-Montrachet that embodies the elegance and complexity of its terroir.

The Saint-Genys Heirs

Les Héritiers Saint-Genys

Bourgogne | France

Les Héritiers Saint-Genys embodies the unique journey of Patrice du Jeu, a former restaurateur who became a winemaker out of passion and conviction. In 2010, he took over a neglected 12-hectare estate between the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise, which he completely restructured with exacting standards and humility. The estate cultivates a wide variety of parcels, from Chassagne-Montrachet to Santenay, extending into the Côte Chalonnaise, with one notable exception: the Mercurey Premier Cru Clos Marcilly monopole. Each wine expresses its terroir, from the approachable Bourgogne Aligoté to the more structured Premier Crus. The wines, praised by several guides, reflect the same rigorous approach for each appellation. Being a winemaker in Chassagne-Montrachet remains an honor for Patrice, one he strives to earn every day.
