Our opinion on the vintage
Domaine Sangouard Guyot
Domaine Sangouard Guyot is located in Vergisson, between the Solutré rocks and Vergisson in the Mâconnais region. The family history dates back to the 18th century, and the estate was modernized when Pierre-Emmanuel Sangouard took over in 1997 and merged with the Guyot family lands in 2000. The vineyard is managed using sustainable viticulture practices, and some plots are certified High Environmental Value (HVE).
The estate cultivates approximately 15 hectares of Chardonnay to produce white wines under the Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Vergisson, Mâcon-Bussières, and Mâcon-Villages appellations. Vinification methods vary depending on the cuvée, using temperature-controlled tanks or oak barrels and aging on the lees. The wines reflect the clay-limestone terroir, with finesse, minerality, and aromatics typical of Mâconnais Chardonnay.
