Petra Alba 2022

Anjou Villages Brissac | Rouge | 2022

PETRA ALBA originates exclusively from a limestone terroir, historically known as 'Anjou blanc' (in contrast to 'Anjou noir' with its schist soils). It is crafted from Cabernet Franc, the preferred grape variety for this type of terroir.
PETRA ALBA exhibits fruity aromas, coupled with the depth, power, and noble character typical of fine wines. The geological nature of this exceptional terroir imparts finesse, fruitiness, and a luscious structure.
After a serene rest in bottles for 2 or 3 years, it will harmoniously pair with meats and cheeses. To best appreciate its qualities, it should be uncorked a few hours prior and served at room temperature.

Our Review of the Cuvée

Immerse yourself in the aromatic depth of ROCCA NIGRA, where the bouquet opens with vibrant blackcurrant and mentholated nuances that awaken the senses. On the palate, it delivers an explosion of freshness, surprisingly delicate, giving way to ethereal and diffuse flavors. Vibrant blackcurrant notes linger with refined elegance and admirable concentration. This wine is distinguished by its velvety texture, accompanied by a persistent and savory finish, captivating with both its subtlety and depth.

Domaine de Bablut

Loire | France

In Anjou, Domaine de Bablut primarily cultivates Chenin and Cabernet Franc, emblematic grape varieties of the region. The vineyard largely rests on schist soils, which impart a perceptible tension and vibrancy to the wines, evident in both whites and reds.

Vinification processes are conducted with precision, favoring moderate extractions to preserve fruit clarity and structural balance. White wines exhibit vibrant and linear profiles, while reds maintain a clear framework and a measured structure. Aging regimens remain understated, designed to complement the wine's substance without dictating its style.

All cuvées are characterized by an assertive sobriety and natural relief, offering a faithful and legible interpretation of the Anjou terroirs, without seeking artificial effects or ostentation.
