Made using traditional methods, this Cabernet Franc expresses the essence of the clay-limestone terroir. The 45-year-old vines impart remarkable depth and complexity. Aged for four months in stainless steel tanks, the wine retains exceptional purity while developing rich and varied aromas, typical of the grape variety, without the use of added yeasts or other oenological additives.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first glance, the deep garnet robe with purple highlights captivates the eye. The nose, decidedly expressive, evokes fresh blackcurrant, blackcurrant leaf, roasted red bell pepper, and a touch of crushed mint. On the palate, the attack is round and ample, offering a fleshy and velvety texture. Fresh fruit dominates, accompanied by spicy notes of pepper and menthol nuances that bring freshness and vibrancy. The finish is harmonious and indulgent, with lingering flavors of blackcurrant, pepper, cocoa, and mint, delivering a most appreciable length on the palate.

In Brézé and Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, Arnaud Lambert works some of the most emblematic limestone terroirs of the Saumur region. This diversity of soils allows him to explore contrasting expressions of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, with particular attention paid to the purity of the profiles and the precision of the balance.

The grapes are rigorously ripened to preserve the fruit's vibrancy and a clean structure. The white wines are distinguished by a marked tension and a precise mineral expression, while the reds favor gentle extractions, resulting in fine textures and well-integrated tannins. Aging is tailored to each cuvée and vintage, always designed to complement the wine without influencing its style.

The entire body of work from the estate offers a clear and refined interpretation of these Loire Valley terroirs, with wines built on accuracy, precision and the ability to faithfully translate their origin.
