Our opinion on the vintage

Upon opening, this wine reveals a seductively bright, pale gold color. On the nose, it offers an interesting complexity with slightly buttery and toasty aromas that evolve into roasted white fruits, complemented by a discreet hint of volatile acidity. On the palate, it is remarkably full and enveloping, revealing a ripe and fleshy texture. The supple mouthfeel, combined with fine acidity and a slight effervescence, provides a delicate tension. The finish is particularly luscious, marked by generous flavors of roasted fruit and toasty, spicy nuances. This wine invites you to a rich and balanced sensory experience.

Gilles Trouiller

Roussillon | France

Domaine Gilles Trouiller is a small, independent winery located in the Roussillon region, primarily around Tarerach, Trévillach, Calce, and Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, where the vines thrive in high-altitude granite and schist soils. After working with Chapoutier, Gilles Trouiller established his own vineyard in the early 2000s, cultivating Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Lledoner Pelut, and a few white grape varieties using organic and biodynamic practices, though without certification.

Viticulture is carried out without herbicides or excessive inputs, with manual harvesting and natural fermentations. Vinification by plot and aging in amphorae, vats, or oak barrels are designed to preserve freshness, minerality, and the pure expression of the fruit.

The estate's wines are renowned for their elegance, aromatic purity and ability to translate the diversity of the Roussillon terroirs, offering expressive vintages such as "Guérilleros", "The Big Gilou" or "L'Esprit du Temps".
