Our Review of the Cuvée

With its dark, translucent garnet color, this wine immediately captivates with its expressive nose, where aromas of black fruit cream mingle with hints of garrigue. On the palate, it reveals a round, enveloping texture, enhanced by a fruity freshness. As the tasting progresses, the flavors gain depth, giving way to a deliciously indulgent finish of black cherry and cocoa. It is a wine of beautiful fullness, appreciated for its liveliness and savory fruitiness.

The Olivier Pithon estate is an independent producer located in the **Côtes Catalanes** region of the Pyrénées-Orientales, producing a range of IGP Côtes Catalanes wines that reflect the diversity of the region’s schist and limestone soils.

The vineyard comprises various plots where traditional grape varieties such as Grenache, Carignan, and Macabeu are grown to produce white, red, and sometimes biodynamic wines. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the winemaking process is carried out with great care to preserve the freshness, minerality, and aromatic character of each variety.

Olivier Pithon’s wines, such as “Colt d’en Olby,” “Le Pilou,” and the D18 and Maccabeu selections, are prized for their authenticity, their Mediterranean character, and their balance between bold fruit and elegant tannins.
