Coulée de Saint-Cyr 2021

Saumur | White | 2021

With its Chenin Blanc grapes grown on silt, clay, and limestone soils, this wine offers a beautiful expression of the St.-Cyr-en-Bourg terroir. Certified organic viticulture guarantees complete respect for the environment. Careful winemaking, with direct pressing and fermentation using indigenous yeasts, is followed by aging in barrels and large oak casks, adding complexity and length to the wine. A harmonious blend followed by aging in tanks refines this balance.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first sniff, aromas of white fruit emerge, enriched with subtle floral notes and a touch of minerality. The palate is precise and elegant, underpinned by a vibrant tension that enhances the wine's silky texture. Barrel aging imparts depth and creaminess that blend delicately with the natural flavors of Chenin Blanc. A lingering finish, leaving an impression of purity and freshness, invites you to continually revisit the sensory experience offered by each sip.

Loire | France

In Brézé and Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, Arnaud Lambert works some of the most emblematic limestone terroirs of the Saumur region. This diversity of soils allows him to explore contrasting expressions of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, with particular attention paid to the purity of the profiles and the precision of the balance.

The grapes are rigorously ripened to preserve the fruit's vibrancy and a clean structure. The white wines are distinguished by a marked tension and a precise mineral expression, while the reds favor gentle extractions, resulting in fine textures and well-integrated tannins. Aging is tailored to each cuvée and vintage, always designed to complement the wine without influencing its style.

The entire body of work from the estate offers a clear and refined interpretation of these Loire Valley terroirs, with wines built on accuracy, precision and the ability to faithfully translate their origin.
