Domaine Sérol covers 35 hectares on the eastern foothills of the Massif Central, very close to the Gorges de la Loire. The Champtoisé cuvée is made from Chenin vines planted at over 400 meters above sea level on granite soil.

Our opinion on the vintage

Beautiful mineral expression. The nose opens with delicate aromas of white-fleshed fruit and citrus, enhanced by a subtle floral touch. The palate continues this aromatic profile, with the addition of light honeyed notes that bring sweetness.

In the Côte Roannaise, Domaine Sérol is run by Stéphane Sérol, who took over the family estate in 1998. The vineyard now covers approximately 28 hectares, located on the volcanic slopes of the Roannaise region, a geological context which imparts a characteristic tension and freshness to the wines.

The estate is managed organically, with careful soil management based on the addition of organic matter and lime, to maintain the vineyard's vitality and the vine's balance. The harvest is done by hand, with rigorous sorting of the bunches, ensuring that the grapes are picked at optimal ripeness.

The winemaking process is carried out plot by plot, with each cuvée crafted separately to reveal the nuances of each terroir. The winery is primarily equipped with concrete tanks, supplemented by a few truncated conical wooden vats.
