Patrick Bouju - La Bohème

Languedoc | France

In Puy-de-Dôme, Patrick Bouju crafts wines under the name La Bohème, employing natural practices, using Gamay, Pinot Noir, and ancient grape varieties that are gradually being reintroduced into cultivation. The vines, often old, are planted on volcanic soils characteristic of the region, which impart a subtle energy and unique character to the wines.

Vinifications are conducted with minimal intervention, allowing fermentations to proceed freely to preserve the spontaneous expression of the grape. The wines exhibit vibrant and direct fruit, combined with a supple texture and unconstrained mouthfeel, without any attempt at correction or standardization.

All the cuvées are distinguished by a marked and immediately recognizable identity, supported by strong stylistic coherence. Patrick Bouju's work is now considered a benchmark in the natural wine movement, offering a vibrant and instinctive interpretation of Auvergne's volcanic terroirs.
