Our Review of the Cuvée

The Argile cuvée captivates with its luminous copper hue. On the nose, a subtle symphony of baked apples, caramel, and sweet spices envelops the senses. On the palate, this cider displays remarkable depth, with a lush yet airy texture reminiscent of tarte Tatin. The fine bubbles lend it a delightful freshness, while the finish offers a savory richness. The minerality imparted by the clay soils expresses itself with a bitterness balanced by sweet notes, offering a unique and refined sensory experience.

Julien Frémont is an artisanal producer based in Fort Manel, in the Pays d’Auge region of Normandy, who has built a winemaking business centered on transforming apples and other fruits into artisanal ciders, perries, and calvados. Coming from a long-standing family farm, he cultivates approximately 20 hectares of orchards using organic and biodynamic farming methods.

The fruit is harvested by hand, and natural fermentation takes place without any additives, resulting in distinctive farmhouse ciders and perries, as well as calvados made using traditional methods.

Julien Frémont’s wines are renowned for their fruitiness, vibrancy, and complexity, reflecting the Normandy terroir and artisanal expertise passed down from generation to generation.
