Our take on this vintage

A lovely blend of Sylvaner and Pinot Blanc from old vines. Right away, the wine takes on a fruity character. Light smoky notes linger. All in all, this Nature from Mr. Patrick Meyer is very easy to drink—a true treat that’s worth waiting a little while for.

This wine is unfiltered and unsulphited (like all of Patrick’s wines, for that matter). It is often cloudy with notes that are more or less marked by oxidation. The presence of gas is common and natural.

Alsace | France

In Alsace, Domaine Julien Meyer follows a biodynamic approach to winemaking, with a particular focus on soil vitality and the natural balance of the grapes. Riesling, Sylvaner, and Gewürztraminer are vinified there with a commitment to maximum transparency, often without the addition of sulfur.

The winemaking process emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing fermentation to run its natural course. The wines may exhibit subtle fermentation notes, which are embraced as a defining characteristic of the style, while retaining a lively character and a precise expression of the grape varieties. Aging is carried out over an extended period, imparting a gradual depth without weighing down the profiles.

All of the wines are characterized by a distinct and consistent character, offering a direct and lively expression of the Alsatian terroirs. The estate embraces a unique philosophy, rooted in observation, patience, and respect for the natural rhythm of the wines.
