French wine | Red | 2024

After leaving the Czech Republic and meeting several key figures in the wine world, Andréa Calek found the Ardèche to be the perfect place to express her vision of natural wine. Using entirely natural winemaking methods—free of sulfites and additives—and through carbonic maceration, she creates wines that fully celebrate the distinctive character of the Syrah and Grenache grape varieties. The result is a vibrant, rich wine that highlights freshness and suppleness.

Our take on this vintage

This wine boasts a magnificent translucent cherry-red color. The nose is an explosion of fruit, blending raspberry and sour cherry with subtle spicy notes. On the palate, the experience is just as enticing: the texture is lively and silky, accentuated by a light effervescence that brings a sensation of freshness. The finish is marked by a play of flavors between tart morello cherry and a gentle touch of white pepper. For the best experience, letting it breathe will soften the effervescence, revealing the full richness of this wine. A true treat for the senses!

Andrea Calek

Savoie | France

Andréa Calek is a winemaker of Czech origin based in the northern Rhône Valley, in the Ardèche region. After gaining experience in France and abroad, he settled there in the early 2000s and quickly became a recognized figure in the natural wine movement.

The vineyard consists of plots situated on steep slopes, primarily on granite soils. The vines are cultivated using organic farming methods, with low yields and a significant amount of manual labor—a prerequisite for the terroir to fully express itself.

The wines are made without additives, using natural fermentation and aging methods tailored to each cuvée. Andréa Calek’s wines are characterized by their energy, freshness, and a great freedom of expression.
