This Chardonnay, made from 70-year-old vines, is the result of meticulous winemaking that preserves the authenticity of the terroir. The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by static settling without the addition of sugar. Native yeasts are used for fermentation, followed by aging in oak barrels for 10 months, with no sulfites added at bottling. The deep clay-limestone soil gives this wine a beautiful structure and great elegance.

Our take on this vintage

On the nose, this Chardonnay reveals complex aromas blending notes of ripe fruit with delicate woody nuances, reflecting its barrel aging. On the palate, the balance between freshness and roundness is remarkable, supported by a silky texture and a lovely length. The old vines contribute depth and a rare minerality, offering a rich and memorable tasting experience. Decanting and serving at around 14°C will fully reveal its subtleties.

In the Mâconnais region, Domaine Tripoz cultivates its vineyards using biodynamic methods on the clay-limestone soils characteristic of the subregion. Vineyard management focuses on achieving natural balance and optimal ripeness to preserve the distinct character of the grape varieties and terroirs.

Chardonnays form the core of our production. They feature full-bodied, structured profiles, underpinned by a consistent tension that lends balance and length. Aging is managed with precision, alternating between tanks and barrels depending on the cuvée, with the aim of enhancing the wine’s body without weighing down its expression.

The Pinot Noirs, produced in smaller quantities, yield wines with bright fruit and a smooth texture, emphasizing suppleness and drinkability. The entire range is characterized by great overall consistency, with precise, balanced, and approachable wines that remain true to the identity of the Mâconnais region.
