The vineyards surrounding this wine are carefully cultivated on schist and calcareous clay soils, spanning iconic regions such as Tautavel and Maury. Coume Marie Red is a precise blend of hand-harvested Grenache Noir and Carignan, with a touch of Syrah and Mourvèdre. Its vinification in tanks limits pumping over and is accompanied by punch-downs for optimal temperature control, followed by 10 months of aging in used barrels.

Our Review of the Cuvée

This wine offers a complex nose where floral notes blend with subtle hints of ripe fruit and a light toasty aroma. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied, revealing a silky texture and crisp tannins that expand with elegance. This complexity is enhanced by a lingering freshness and a bold character. The long, pleasant finish invites you to savor this wine with hearty dishes such as pepper-crusted ribeye or roasted poultry. A delight for lovers of wines with character.

Domaine De La Preceptorie

Roussillon | France

Domaine de La Préceptorie is a Roussillon winery located in Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet in the Fenouillèdes region. Founded in 2001 by former members of the Maury cooperative and the younger generation of the Domaine de la Rectorie, it is now managed by the Parcé brothers on a vineyard of approximately 30 hectares planted with Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Macabeu, and Grenache Gris.

The estate produces a wide range of red, white, rosé, and naturally sweet wines, as well as more unusual cuvées such as dry rancio wines, with carefully controlled yields and a focus on expressing the character of the schist and clay terroir. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the winemaking process emphasizes the use of native yeasts and minimal intervention to bring out the distinctive character of the terroirs.

The estate's wines are characterized by their freshness, aromatic precision, and ability to reflect the diversity of the Côtes du Roussillon, Côtes du Roussillon Villages, and
