La vigne en rose 2023

Alsace | Blanc | 2023

Le Vignoble du Rêveur spans 7 hectares in Bennwihr, Alsace, on Quaternary alluvial soils. Founded by Mathieu Deiss and Emmanuelle Milan, the estate is distinguished by its biodynamic and organic viticulture, employing innovative practices such as amphora vinification and the absence of filtration. This wine blends Riesling and Gewurztraminer, both hand-harvested. The winemaking process separates the grape varieties before blending them, resulting in aromatic depth and a silky texture.

Our Review of the Cuvée

Visually, an intense golden hue with pink highlights reveals an inviting wine. The nose is refined and elegant, exuding aromas of rose petals, pomelo, and nectarine. On the palate, it is round and enveloping, with a full-bodied yet airy texture that caresses the palate. The flavors blend harmoniously, with notes of yellow fruit, flowers, and spices. The finish is persistent, revealing a richness of dried peach and faded rose, enhanced by a hint of oriental spices, while remaining remarkably dry.

Le Vignoble du Rêveur is a winery founded in 2013 in Bennwihr, Alsace, by Mathieu Deiss—a member of the renowned Deiss family—and Emmanuelle Milan. The project is dedicated to achieving a free and natural expression of the wine, using biodynamic and organic viticulture on approximately 7 hectares of Quaternary alluvial soil.

The estate has been biodynamic since its inception and is Demeter-certified, with a philosophy that emphasizes innovative practices such as extended maceration, native yeasts, aging in large oak barrels, and often unfiltered wines with no added sulfur, resulting in a wide variety of styles.

The wines from Vignoble du Rêveur are characterized by freshness and complexity, ranging from lively, taut cuvées like the Riesling “Vibrations” to original blends such as “Rien ne Bouge” or “Artisan,” reflecting both
