Pays D'Hérault | Rouge | 2022

This wine is made from the single Niellucio grape variety, carefully cultivated on clay-limestone soils in the heart of the Capestang region. The viticulture is environmentally friendly, ensuring a natural expression of the terroir. The winemaking process follows a traditional approach, including a cold pre-fermentation phase and careful aging in stainless steel tanks, resulting in a wine that is both fresh and full-bodied. The specific aging of the press wines in barrels adds a touch of complexity.

Our Review of the Cuvée

Upon opening, this wine gradually reveals itself with a nose reminiscent of blackcurrant candy, following a slightly reserved initial impression. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, a veritable explosion of juicy, sun-kissed fruit. The structure is full-bodied, displaying a beautiful roundness that leads to a long, savory finish. Chalky and spicy notes add an extra dimension to the overall experience, making it a complete sensory journey, marked by a persistent and pleasant freshness that lasts until the very last drop.

These cuvées exhibit an instinctive harmony, as if the diverse grape varieties of Minervois willingly coexist. Carignan, Grenache, Cinsault: each contributes a nuance without dominating. The rarer white wines are particularly surprising. The vinifications are straightforward, occasionally a bit rustic, yet the overall expression maintains genuine sincerity. In short: excellent drinkability.
