Les Moyens du Bord 2024

Vin de France | Blanc | 2024

This wine, made from the first Chenin grapes, is a true artisanal product. Produced by Marc Houtin and Julien Bresteau, its winemaking reflects a natural approach, with no added exogenous yeasts, and six months of aging in barrels that have previously held various wines. Its low SO2 content makes it a choice that respects its terroir, while its production comes from a selection of carefully chosen grapes.

Our Review of the Cuvée

From the very first glance, its pale gold color catches the eye. The nose reveals a bouquet rich in ripe white fruits such as apple and pear, with a delicate note of linden blossom and a hint of damp chalk. On the palate, its crisp freshness is striking, with a pulpy, juicy texture. The luscious fruit delivers a sensation of lightness and pleasure with every sip. The finish is invigorating, with a bold chalky texture blending flavors of ripe apple and lemon pulp, ensuring a particularly delicious tasting experience.

In Anjou, Domaine de La Grange aux Belles offers a deliberately free-spirited and unconventional take on the Loire Valley’s grape varieties. Grolleau, a variety long marginalized, is vinified in a straightforward manner, highlighting its natural lightness. Chenin can express itself in profiles that are more tender than sharp, depending on the cuvée and the balance sought.

The winemaking process follows a natural approach, with limited but always controlled interventions, in order to preserve the wines’ precision and clarity. Extraction is kept moderate, and aging is subtle, resulting in fluid textures and supple balance.

The wines stand out for their approachability and drinkability, with profiles that glide across the palate and prioritize immediate enjoyment without sacrificing balance. The estate’s entire portfolio offers a
